EOFY 25/26 donations: Regenerate Australia, Addi Road, Deadly Science

20 cents per bag sold during FY25/26 (via our cafes, online shop, and subscriptions) will go to Regenerate Australia, Addi Road, and Deadly Science.

Since 2019, we’ve been setting aside 20 cents per bag sold. Initially, it was only those sold through our cafes and online retail shop, but last year, we rolled it out to include our subscription too.

At the end of every financial year, we add it all up and share it with groups that work for causes we value: environmental action, local activism, social justice…

The ‘donation kitty’ from this financial year (bags sold from 1 July 2025 to 28 June 2026) will continue to support the same organisations as in previous times: Regenerate Australia (formerly Carbon Positive Australia), Addi Road, and Deadly Science.

Here’s a bit more about them:

Regenerate Australia (formerly known as Carbon Positive Australia)

We’ve supported their planting and land restoration projects in Australia every year since 2020. It’s great to follow their progress!

Addi Road

Based in our neighbouring suburb of Marrickville, this charity runs campaigns against food waste, homelessness, and racism. While it’s the first year we nominate them as recipients of our ‘donation box’, we’ve supported them in the past by donating the profits from our garage sale and a bunch of brew bags to go with their Royal Prince Alfred Hospital staff’s takeaway dinners.

Deadly Science

Many in our team and brewing community are deeply connected to the science and tech world. Yep, we’re proud nerds in many ways—code, design, coffee. That’s why, this year, we’ve shared part of our ‘donation box’ with Deadly Science, an organisation “creating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.”

How do we distribute it? Before EOFY comes, our online coffee subscribers have a chance to choose the organisation that will receive their share/contribution (20 cents per subscription bag received during the FY). They can also choose to be split evenly.

The remainder of the ‘donation kitty’ (cafe/online retail sales + online subscription contributions that haven’t been assigned a cause) is split evenly between the 3 organisations.

From little things…
