William Andrés Olivera is a 2nd-generation coffee farmer who originally comes from a “town life”. Moving to a rural area was a 180 degrees change for him and his wife since they started with coffee from scratch 5 years ago.
William is inspired on improving and transforming his farm into a model of agriculture that not only stands out for its coffee quality but also for its commitment to caring for the natural environment.
In his own words, “Coffee has fascinated me because it’s a product in high demand, and easily becomes cash.” With this motivation, William has sought the support and training he needed, joining the Caravela team, which has helped him improve at every stage of the process.
With a smile, he shares his favourite story, recalling how his neighbours used to say coffee wasn’t viable in the area, but through perseverance, he has proven that with hard work and dedication, quality production is possible.
In the short term, William plans to plant fruit trees and improve the drying infrastructure on his farm. His dream is to build a legacy that inspires other coffee farmers and keeps the coffee tradition alive in his family, hoping that the coffee he produces with such effort reaches the cups of those who truly appreciate the work behind every bean.
